What is a Bachelor’s degree program?
A Bachelor’s degree is an academic form of study that represents the first university degree. This higher education qualification is awarded in many countries around the world, including Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It usually represents the first stage of a multi-stage study system, followed by a Master’s degree and possibly a doctorate.
After successfully completing the Bachelor’s degree course, students are awarded a Bachelor’s degree. The exact title depends on the subject. Examples are Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.).
How long does a Bachelor’s degree program take?
Usually, the duration of study for the Bachelor’s degree is 7 semesters.
However, it varies between 6 and 8 semesters depending on the Bachelor’s degree. The Bachelor of Arts in
Social Work
for example, is 8 semesters.
How many credits does a Bachelor’s degree program have?
The scope of the Bachelor’s degree course is measured in ECTS points (European Credit Transfer System). This is a credit system that was developed to facilitate the comparison of academic achievements between universities in different European countries. As a rule, a Bachelor’s degree course comprises 180 to 210 ECTS points.
How much time does it take to complete a Bachelor’s degree?
The time required for a Bachelor’s degree can vary greatly and depends on many factors, including the subject chosen, the degree of difficulty of the course, the student’s individual learning speed and learning methods. As a rule, however, you should expect your studies to take between six and seven semesters with approximately one to two hours of study time per day.
What is the difference between a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree?
A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science is the first academic degree that can be obtained after 6 to 7 semesters and provides a sound basic knowledge. The Master of Arts or Master of Science usually requires a Bachelor’s degree and lasts 4 to 5 semesters. It builds on the Bachelor’s degree and enables greater specialization and in-depth academic knowledge of the subject.
Which Bachelor’s degree can I achieve exactly?
With the successful completion of one of our cooperative Bachelor programs you will receive the state-recognized academic degree “Bachelor of Arts” (B.A.) or “Bachelor of Science” (B.Sc.), depending on the course of study. This qualifies you for correspondingly demanding professions or a subsequent Master’s or MBA course.
Can I study without a high school diploma?
Yes, technically this is possible. First of all, you need a professional qualification. In addition, you will either need to complete a so-called advanced training course, such as a specialist or business administrator, or alternatively take an aptitude test with us.
