Take off as a young talent in the social sector
The Covid-19 pandemic has shown how urgently society needs qualified young people in the social sector. The increasing migration movement and the associated challenges also mean that the career opportunities for social workers and social education workers with academic qualifications are first class. A trend that will continue in the coming years and decades.
As a young talent in the field of social work, you may encounter various tasks and topics: social inequality, child and youth education or the increasing migration movement. During your practice-oriented studies, you will learn how you can best support people in these different life situations. In addition, exciting specializations such as “social work with children and young people”, “psychosocial counselling and health”, “digitalization in social work” or “social work in old age” await you.
Our 8-semester course in social work enables you to obtain a state-recognized Bachelor’s degree (Bachelor of Arts, B.A.) and state recognition as a social worker or social pedagogue. Thanks to the compact attendance modules, you remain flexible in terms of time and are still ideally prepared for a successful career start or a further Master’s degree.
As part of this Bachelor’s program in the field of social work, you will acquire pedagogical and sociological qualifications, deal with various processes and work on your first own projects. In the various specializations, you will also encounter exciting and practice-oriented content from the areas of social work with children and young people, psychosocial counselling and health, digitalization in social work or social work in old age.
Both in the foundation course and in the specializations, you will deal with various aspects such as the theories and methods, administration, organization and management of social work. Topics such as gender and diversity, communication, teamwork and conflict management are also part of the relevant content of your studies.
The successful Bachelor’s degree B.A. opens up a wide range of first-class career opportunities in the field of social work. You can take on important management roles here, for example in child, youth or family welfare, in the community or in social education. As part of your studies, you will also qualify for a successful career in the health sector or in addiction prevention, for example.
