Arrival:
Make it easy for yourself – and the environment too! 🚃 Leave the car at home and use public transport to get to the castle! 🚌
These connections will take you to the palace grounds within Karlsruhe:
Streetcar:
- Marktplatz (Kaiserstraße): Lines: S1, S2, S5, S11, S51, Tram 3, Tram 4 ➝ Only approx. 3 minutes on foot to Schlossplatz
- Kronenplatz (Fritz-Erler-Straße): Lines: S1, S11, Tram 2 ➝ From here it is about a 5-minute walk through the greenery
- Herrenstraße: Line: Tram 4 ➝ Right around the corner from the castle
Bus:
- Schlossplatz: Line: Bus 10 ➝ The bus stop is located directly next to the castle grounds
Bicycle:
Use your own bike or cycle with StadtRAD Karlsruhe – there are stations all around the palace! 🚲

The Karlsruhe main station has excellent connections to the rail network – both from the region and from all over Germany. Here are a few examples:
- From Stuttgart: 🚄 With the ICE or IRE in approx. 45-60 minutes
- From Mannheim: 🚄 With the ICE, IC or RE in approx. 30 minutes
- From Heidelberg: 🚉 With the RE or S-Bahn in approx. 45 minutes
- From Frankfurt am Main: 🚄 With the ICE in approx. 1 hour 10 minutes
- From Freiburg im Breisgau: 🚄 With the ICE, IC or RE in approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
